visiblity, transparency and accountability for a connected community

We are an independant organisation that sits between local council and residents and our platform provides for seamless and simple communication and transparency to help build and integrate better community outcomes.

Logging dangers is a small part of what we do, we also provide for wishlists for new services or works in their LGA by allowing a user to post a wish and other users can show their support. If a wish gains support from residents it is submitted to council for consideration.

We have a range of standard API's that can link acouncilbility.org directly into your organisation seamlessly. We can also accommodate custom API's and web apps to help your organisation become more engaged, streamlined and efficient.

For councils and authorities please take a tour below for an overview of the microservice platforms that are currently live.

Just like other reporting platforms that allow users to snap a picture and send it to the relevant authority, we do the same but offer a closed loop and more. We don't just send a message to an authority and hope for the best, we follow up and provide transparency so regulated authorities can be held accountable if they don't meet the required standards. If an organisation can't act appropriately or in a timely manner it is there for all to see, but our aim is not to name and shame, it is to improve service delivery for the whole of community. In a rapidly changing world and a costs and staffing crisis, sometimes standards and regulations are simply not able to be met. We see our role as an independant observer to highlight shortfalls so the organisation and community can work together to improve outcomes. In general all organisations are struggling with finances and something has to give, however with the power of community support we can petition for more funding. Our primary motive is visibility through digital communication, what to residents want and need, where are organisations struggling or in need of assistance, without visibility and accountability we are travelling blindly downhill, as almost every community metric is heading in the wrong direction. With higher than ever crime rates, increasing homelessness, affordability at an all time low, children struggling, the list goes on and on, something is needed to turn things around. We are not political at all, we believe all sides of government at every level needs to be held accountable as does the whole of society to do better. Acouncilbility aims to build a closer relationship between government, authorities and community for a far better outcome as a collective, by collecting and promoting facts rather than complaints and inaction.

Much like neighbourhood watch, our users can anonymously report suspicious activity so that other locals can be aware and protect themselves and their assets. We provide local Police with access to our community safety platform so in the event of a criminal investigation they have instant access to pictures, descriptions, security and dashcam footage to assist in apprehending offenders and making our communities safer. We also provide official crime statistics so residents can see every criminal matter for their own town or suburb.

We streamline things by categorising residents messages so they can be instantly sent through to the right person in the right organisation. We currently have over 150 message classifications covering everything from reporting an abandoned shopping trolley to reporting a noise complaint and everything in between.

We act as a lobby group by proxy for residents in a simple fashion. For example if residents feel that local police do not have adequate funding to do their jobs effectively, we provide an easy petition environment that can be submitted to state or federal government for consideration. Acouncilbility lobbying gives people with a common agenda a communal voice in an official capacity to make positive change.

Acouncilbility.org allows users to make submissions much like a suggestion box, a user can suggest an upgrade to a local playground for example and other locals can add their support for the wish with a simple click. Council has visibility of wish lists for their LGA and can now proactively look into the matter and provide a response to the community.

In the event of an emergency or disaster, telecommunications are one of the first things impacted. In conjuction with councils and local business we are rolling out a unique fallback communications system that doesn't require mains power or mobile towers and is very cost effective. Members of the public can still text message when all other methods of communication are down. Its quite simple in how it works by using LoRa radio waves and a bluetooth connection to a meshtastic app on your phone.

A one stop shop to find services such as mobile library location, support services across all ages, identities and many more.

Our Local Government platform allows council meeting agendas to be posted online so residents can see what is happening in council chambers as well as the outcomes of meetings with full transparency where appropriate.

With the uptake of electric vehicles ever increasing the conditions of our roads is more important than ever. Whilst EV's don't generate emissions through an exhaust pipe they do create emissions on the road in the form of toxic rubber particles at a higher rate than conventional vehicles, this is in part due to the additional weight of heavy batteries and the fact that they tend to accellerate faster. By improving our roads we can reduce landfill of prematurely discarded tyres through pothole damage and other road defects as well as lowering the amount of toxins in our air. Acouncilbility allows users to take a photo of a defect and we automatically send the exact location to the relevant authority so they are aware and can schedule repairs faster. We intend to roll out further functionality to allow proximity alerts to drivers to let them know of serious road defects that may not yet have warning signs in place.

Our tasker platform allows people to post tasks they'd like done locally. It may be looking to get your lawn mowed, someone to look after a pet or help with moving house, right through to finding a local builder and everything in between. Local Taskers can then negiotiate a price directly with the user.

Our systems are built from the ground up with security and privacy first. The best way to protect users private data is to not have it in the first place, so our default is an anonymous profile to keep things simple and secure. For some aspects of user interactions we do need private data for legal reasons such as petition signing for submission to government, in these cases private data is encrypted on the users device before being sent to us and then held in a secure offline database that is not connected to the internet. When private data is needed, it is manually extracted and enterered into the petition or form required.

acouncilbility.org is a free service for users so donations are welcome!
